ROB KNOX DOCUMENTARY SCOOPS AWARDS AT FILM FESTIVALS
For the past year, (K)nox: The Rob Knox Story has been making waves on the film festival circuit around the world.
The documentary was commissioned by Colin Knox at the Foundation to honour his son and to help boost awareness of knife crime in the UK. Aaron Truss, a close friend to Rob Knox, was brought on board to executive produce and direct this feature length film.
‘Aaron has come to a point where I wanted the documentary to be. He has done a remarkable job. So my conclusion is, I’m happy, totally happy, with what Aaron has achieved.
- Colin Knox
Hollywood faces have also stepped up to appear in the 50 minute documentary such as Ray Winstone (The Departed, Marvel’s Black Widow), Dani Harmer (Tracey Beaker), Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners) as well as Rob’s Harry Potter colleagues Jim Broadbent, Tom Felton and director David Yates.
In March 2021, (K)nox: The Rob Knox Story went on to win Best Feature Documentary at the London Independent Film Festival. Shortly after this, the documentary then went on to become an official finalist at the Toronto Independent Film Festival, a gold winner at the Latitude Film Awards, included as part of the official selection for the BELIFF Film Festival in London and also selected as an official semi finalist at the Gold Movie Awards.
With festival season fast approaching, we hope to be able to platform the issues of knife crime again if selected.
